Job summary

D.R. Horton, Inc. is hiring an Assistant Superintendent for the Pittsburgh Region to support site leadership in managing home construction from foundation to closing. You will coordinate subcontractors, inspections, safety, scheduling, and quality control while delivering excellent customer service to homeowners.

Candidate should have a high school diploma or GED, 6 months to 2 years of related experience, and a valid driver's license. Proficiency with MS Office and DRH apps is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Six months to two years of related construction experience.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive among sites.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read plans and construction documents.
• Proficiency with MS Office and email.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Inspect homes daily to assure quality and alignment with plans and schedule.
• Schedule inspections with inspectors and coordinate with subcontractors.
• Walk completed homes before closing to ensure quality and address items.
• Conduct homeowner orientation and ensure homeowner satisfaction.
• Assist the Superintendent in managing subcontractors for quality, safety, scheduling, and cost.
• Enforce site safety and cleanliness standards across communities.
• Assist in managing construction materials to prevent damage and waste.
• Support the construction schedule to deliver a high-quality product on time and within budget.
• Provide superior customer service during all phases of construction.
• Develop positive relations with subcontractors and homeowners.
• Develop knowledge of building codes and construction scheduling.
• In Superintendent’s absence, maintain schedules and guidelines.
• Represent the company professionally to serve customers and business needs.
• Ability to work overtime as necessary.
