Construction Project Manager

Are you a driven construction professional who takes pride in quality craftsmanship, organization, and client service? Robertson Builders is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager / Site Superintendent to oversee custom residential construction and remodeling projects on California's Central Coast.

The Construction Project Manager will combine project planning, budgeting, scheduling, client communication, and on-site supervision. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone with strong residential construction experience who can manage projects from planning through completion while maintaining quality, safety, timelines, and budgets.

Construction Project Manager Responsibilities

• Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, resources, and project milestones.
• Schedule and coordinate construction activities to keep projects on track and meet established deadlines.
• Serve as the primary on-site leader for residential construction and remodeling projects.
• Conduct daily job-site walkthroughs to monitor progress, identify issues, and ensure work follows plans, specifications, and applicable building codes.
• Supervise subcontractors, labor crews, and other job-site personnel while maintaining accountability and productivity.
• Coordinate with architects, designers, subcontractors, vendors, clients, and other project stakeholders.
• Establish, monitor, and manage project budgets and expenses.
• Manage and document change orders while ensuring accurate and transparent client billing.
• Maintain high-quality construction standards and ensure completed work meets company and client expectations.
• Ensure job-site activities comply with OSHA requirements, safety standards, building codes, and other applicable regulations.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing regular project updates and addressing questions or concerns.
• Document project progress through daily reports, photographs, schedules, and project updates.
• Identify and resolve construction issues proactively and coordinate solutions with appropriate stakeholders.
• Provide on-site training, direction, and guidance to team members and subcontractors.
• Foster a professional, collaborative, productive, and safety-focused job-site environment.
• Adapt project plans and schedules as needed to address changing conditions while maintaining project goals.

Construction Project Manager Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in residential construction management, including both project management and on-site supervision.
• Proven experience with custom home construction and residential remodeling.
• At least 3 years of hands‑on, field‑based construction experience.
• High school diploma required; bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Strong knowledge of residential construction processes, building codes, construction practices, and safety regulations.
• Demonstrated experience managing construction budgets, schedules, resources, subcontractors, and project timelines.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive client relationships.
• Proficiency in construction management software and tools such as Buildertrend, CoConstruct, Procore, or MS Project.
• OSHA certification, PMP certification, or a similar project management certification is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively in a hands‑on construction environment and provide strong on‑site leadership.

Construction Project Manager starting salary: $100,000 or higher, depending on experience
