S+H Construction is seeking a Residential Construction Project Manager to oversee the execution of multiple residential projects from planning through closeout in the Greater Boston area.

You will manage budgets, schedules, permits, and quality control, and lead a team of assistant PMs while coordinating with clients, architects, and subcontractors to ensure on-time delivery and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in construction project management.
• Strong knowledge of residential construction processes, budgeting, and scheduling.

Job Title: Residential Construction Project Manager
Location: S+H Construction Office / Various Jobsite Locations
Reports to: Senior Management

Position Overview

The Residential Construction Project Manager is responsible for the successful execution of residential construction projects. The Project Manager will collaborate with internal teams and clients, manage budgets, schedules, specifications, and ensure timely completion of residential construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial

  • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring that budgets are controlled, and projects stay within financial parameters.
  • Create change orders to update the budget as needed.
  • Review and approve all labor and subcontractor estimates, contracts, change orders, and invoices.

• Schedule

  • Develop, manage and track project schedule and update teams regularly on progress or potential delays.

• Quality Control

  • Assist construction manager to ensure all construction meets required quality standards, building codes, and safety regulations.
  • Manage the permitting and approval process to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

• Team Management

  • Provide leadership and mentorship to assistant project managers and other team members.
  • Collaborate with the Construction Manager on internal project meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and solutions and to ensure proper allocation of resources, managing labor, equipment, and materials for maximum efficiency.
  • This role requires the ability to collaborate with project teams, which includes individuals with diverse personalities and skill sets.

• Risk Management / Problem Solving

  • Identify potential risks (financial, legal, or safety-related) and promptly take proactive steps to mitigate them with approval from management.
  • Manage and address any claims, disputes, or delays with contractors, vendors, and clients with approval from management

• Communication

  • Maintain effective communication with internal teams, clients, architects and subcontractorss.
  • Ensure client satisfaction by providing regular updates on project status, addressing concerns, and meeting expectations.
  • Preparing and sending a formal weekly update to clients on all assigned projects.
  • This position requires regular meetings with senior management to provide updates on project status to internal and external teams.
  • Assist in the development of proposals and bids for new projects.
  • Help cultivate relationships with potential clients, contractors, and industry partners to expand the company’s business.
  • Create and distribute meeting agendas and minutes.

Compensation

• Competitive hourly rate $40-$50 per hour (Average of approximately $100-130K per year commensurate with experience.
• Overtime- Time and a half when worked over 40 hours per week)

Position Requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum of 3 of experience in construction project management preferred.
• Strong knowledge of residential construction processes, budgeting, and scheduling.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple large-scale projects simultaneously.
• Familiarity with local building codes, permitting, and regulatory requirements in the Greater Boston area.
• Proficiency in, and/or ability to learn, construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, etc.).

Position Requirements

• Adhere to S+H Construction Policy Handbook and Safety Manual.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from jobsite.
• Standard Minimum Available Work Hours: M-F 7am - 3:30 pm - Remote work available.
• Strong computer software skills.
