Job Title: Residential Construction Bookkeeper
Job Type: Part-Time (20-25 hours a week), independent contractor
Compensation: $35-40/hour, based on experience
Location: Remote (U.S-based candidates only)

We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Construction Bookkeeper to manage financial operations for a growing residential architecture and construction business. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records in QuickBooks Online, tracking expenses across multiple construction and design projects, and supporting both business and personal finances for the owner. As the bookkeeper, you will work closely with the owner to keep meticulous detailed notes on the ins and outs of the company's finances.
We are seeking an individual who can dedicate a minimum of 20 hours/week to this position, with the proven ability to self-manage and meet deadlines on an ongoing basis. This position is remote with a mostly flexible work schedule. The ideal candidate must be available for occasional follow-up during business hours (PST) and willing to communicate with a company operating in the Pacific Time Zone.
Responsibilities include:
Assist with monthly billing, monitor payments and financial activity across both construction projects and architectural projects
Perform data entry specific to construction (inputting and coding expenses into line-item budget) using Quickbooks
Keep track of expenses and payments to sub-contractors and vendors
Create biweekly (every other week) project reports, providing valuable insight and analysis into each project’s financial viability and reconciling any discrepancies
Available to schedule meetings in advance and work with the principal to set deadlines in a reasonable manner
Provide support with the business owner’s personal financial tasks as needed
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of experience in construction bookkeeping
Possess a strong understanding of residential construction budgets
Proficient with QuickBooks Online
Must be able to maintain a consistent reporting schedule on a biweekly basis
Strong understanding of financial processes, including accounts payable, receivable, and reconciliation.
