Base pay range

$80,000.00/yr - $110,000.00/yr

A Manhattan-based general contractor is seeking an Assistant Project Manager with 1-3 years of construction experience to support commercial and residential projects. This is a great opportunity to join a collaborative team and gain hands-on experience managing a diverse range of construction projects from pre-construction through closeout.

Our client is a full-service General Contractor/Construction Manager that has been in business for 43 years. This company, which is experiencing rapid growth, is renowned in the New York City area. Team members are valued beyond the projects, which contributes to the strong company culture. Our client is currently seeking a motivated Project Manager to join their growing team who is looking to grow with the business.

Description

• Assist the Project Manager in coordinating all phases of construction projects, including planning, execution, and closeout.
• Help manage project schedules, budgets, and subcontractor performance to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
• Support procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and meeting minutes.
• Conduct site visits and support field teams in resolving issues to keep projects on track.
• Communicate effectively with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
• Assist with permitting, inspections, and ensuring adherence to safety standards and building codes.

Profile

• 1-3 years of experience in the construction industry (commercial or residential).
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred, but relevant experience will be considered.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Familiarity with construction software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project) is a plus.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
