Job summary

Meritage Homes is seeking an Assistant Construction Manager to support field operations across residential builds. You will coordinate trades, inspect work, enforce safety and quality standards, and monitor progress with daily site walks.

You will also coordinate inspections, assist with pre/post closing activities, and manage punch lists while collaborating with the Construction Manager, Customer Care, and Sales teams to ensure timely, high-quality homes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required; construction coursework preferred.
• Minimum 2 years residential construction or customer service experience with some supervisory or project oversight preferred.
• Understanding of home construction processes, work sequence, scheduling, and building codes.
• Ability to read architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical plans and scopes of work.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, schedule, and inspect all trades and phases of residential construction under the Construction Manager.
• Communicate and enforce safety, swppp, jobsite cleanup, Meritage quality, and scope standards to subcontractors.
• Walk each home twice daily, monitor progress, verify material deliveries, and elevate concerns.
• Coordinate and accompany city, utility, and third party inspectors.
• Conduct pre/post closing orientations and warranty repairs with buyers.
• Prepare punch lists and manage subcontractors to complete work items.
• Collaborate with Construction Manager, Area Construction Manager, Customer Care, and Sales to meet schedules and quality.
