Job Opening: Residential Companion Advocate

Older Adult Advocacy Center – Telespond

Telespond is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Residential Companion Advocate to join our team at the Older Adult Advocacy Center. This position involves providing supportive assistance to older adults who are temporarily residing at the center due to housing insecurities or situations of abuse. Our center offers a safe and welcoming environment where displaced older adults can find stability while navigating through difficult circumstances. The Residential Companion Advocate will play an essential role in empowering these individuals by offering advocacy, support, and guidance, while promoting their independence and dignity.

What You'll Do:

• Support and Empower: Provide trauma intervention and assistance to residents, ensuring their immediate needs are met and they feel heard and empowered.
• Advocacy and Accompaniment: Offer ongoing advocacy, accompaniment, and general support to older adults as they navigate challenging circumstances.
• Maintain a Welcoming Environment: Perform light housekeeping and janitorial duties to keep the living environment clean and comfortable.
• Create a Safe Haven: Foster a supportive, safe, and respectful atmosphere where residents feel secure and valued during their temporary stay.

What You Need:

• Education: Minimum of a high school diploma.
• Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license.
• Passion: A genuine passion for working with older adults and providing emotional support.
• Dedication: Ability to follow policies and procedures in alignment with Telespond’s mission to empower and uplift our residents.
