Job summary

Good Shepherd is seeking a Residential Housing Support Worker in Hamilton to extend our mission through housing support services, case management, crisis intervention and supportive counseling. The role requires independent work within a residential program and may include duties such as cleaning, packing belongings and lifting.

The successful candidate will hold a post-secondary education in a related field, CPR certification or willingness to obtain it, and a valid Ontario driver’s license is

Qualifications

• Understanding issues affecting cis women, trans and non-binary individuals including violence, homelessness, substance use.
• Experience in residential settings preferred.
• Intake and assessment experience.
• Commitment to anti-racist/anti-oppressive practice.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a caseload.
• Complete an intake and assessment on each resident.
• Design, with supervisor, an interview schedule to evaluate quality of life improvements.
• Maintain confidentiality of clients and records.
• Participate in Health and Safety programs and OHSA compliance.
