Job summary

The Salvation Army in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a Full Time Shelter Care Associate to provide daily supervision and support in a residential substance abuse treatment environment, including crisis intervention and helping clients develop life management skills.

You will monitor activities, ensure safety and hygiene, perform drug tests as required, communicate with the treatment team, and maintain accurate intake and record-keeping.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least one year of security or social service experience preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain within timeframe.
• Valid state driver’s license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides daily supervision, monitoring, reporting, and technical support services to clients in a residential substance abuse treatment environment; crisis intervention counseling when needed; develop life management skills.
• Monitors daily activities, ensures safety, cleanliness, attire, and personal hygiene; observes safety and health risks.
• Communicates with the treatment team and documents major incidents in writing and orally.
• Completes intake paperwork and inputs data to maintain records and client lists.
• Documents and monitors client self-administration of medication as prescribed.
