Salary Range: $36,155 - $57,668

Summary

The Residential Care Shift Manager directs the operations of direct care staff in a state-operated facility, complying with applicable laws and agency policies.

Responsibilities
  1. Provides administrative direction to direct care staff, including evaluating assignments, interpreting laws and policies, and ensuring the health and safety of clients.
  2. Provides direct care services to clients as needed during shifts.
  3. Trains staff on de-escalation, trigger identification, and restraint minimization techniques.
  4. Investigates complaints or allegations of abuse/neglect, reviews administrative issues, and reports to the superintendent.
  5. Monitors material and equipment needs, contributing to budget requests.
  6. Represents the agency at community meetings, hearings, and seminars.
  7. Provides technical assistance to staff and parents regarding operations and programs.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations governing long-term care facilities and human resources management.
  • Knowledge of supervisory practices.
  • Ability to train staff on legal requirements and de-escalation techniques.
  • Ability to assess program effectiveness and recommend improvements.
  • Ability to interpret and conduct compliance inspections.
  • Ability to research, review information, and prepare reports.
Minimum Qualifications

Diploma or equivalent, or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification, plus three years of direct care experience, including one year in a supervisory role.

Additional requirements are subject to review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management.

Licenses

Must be licensed as a CNA in Arkansas within six months of hire.
