Adelbrook is seeking a Cook to support children, adolescents, and young adults with ASD/IDD in a therapeutic residential setting. You will prepare meals that meet dietary needs and safety standards while collaborating with residential, educational, and clinical staff to maintain consistent daily routines through meal service.

The role requires adherence to food safety protocols, active PMT training, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of cooking experience in an institutional, residential, or school-based setting preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass all background and health clearances as required by policy.
• Ability to complete and maintain relevant certifications (e.g., First Aid/CPR, crisis intervention).

Responsabilités

• Prepare and cook meals in accordance with planned menus, special dietary needs, and portion control standards.
• Ensure all food is stored, prepared, and served in a sanitary and safe environment.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and comply with state and local health department regulations.
• Assist in meal planning and inventory management, including receiving, inspecting, and storing food and supplies.
• Monitor and record food temperatures, logs, and cleaning schedules as required.
• Follow proper food safety and allergen protocols at all times.
• Maintain positive relationships with staff and youth, ensuring meals contribute to a welcoming and supportive environment.
• Communicate effectively with staff regarding dietary restrictions, menu modifications, and individual needs.
• Participate in relevant training and staff meetings.
• Maintain active certification in PMT and related crisis intervention training; apply techniques to ensure safety and well-being.
• Perform other duties as assigned
