Gloucester Charities Trust is seeking two part-time Chefs to join Magdalen House Residential Home. Post 1 is 19 hours per week over a two-week rota with shifts 7.30am–6.30pm, including alternate weekends; Post 2 is 17.75 hours with similar hours plus 2.30pm–6.30pm, also including alternate weekends.

Salary is £14.10 per hour plus £1.00 per hour on weekends. Join our catering team to prepare nutritious, appetising meals for older residents, under the supervision of the Chef Manager.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Chef or Cook.
• Food Safety & Hygiene Level 2 or willingness to obtain.
• Knowledge of allergens and special dietary requirements.
• Organised, reliable and able to work under pressure.
• Strong team player with excellent communication.
• Passionate about providing high quality meals for older people.

Responsabilités

• Prepare, cook and present meals to a high standard.
• Support Chef Manager in delivering a varied and nutritious menu.
• Cater for specialist dietary requirements and texture-modified diets.
• Ensure food is prepared and served safely and hygienically.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and comply with food safety regulations.
• Complete temperature checks and cleaning schedules; keep records.
• Assist with stock control, ordering and minimizing waste.
• Support Kitchen Assistants and collaborate with the care home team.
• Contribute to special events and themed menus.
• Promote a positive dining experience for residents.
