Job summary

Step One Halfway House in Phoenix, AZ seeks a Behavioral Health Technician to provide frontline supervision and therapeutic support in a 24-hour residential program, under clinical leadership, monitoring resident behavior, implementing daily structures, and delivering evidence-based curriculum activities.

The role requires trauma-informed care, de-escalation skills, strong documentation in an electronic health record, and collaboration with case managers and nursing staff.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old.
• Arizona Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card required.
• CPR and First Aid certification current; BHT or Peer Support Certification preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate/Bachelor’s in psychology or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide milieu supervision for adult men in recovery.
• Monitor resident behavior and document progress notes in the EHR.
• Co-facilitate life-skills groups, recreational activities, and recovery exercises.
• Apply trauma-informed care and de-escalation techniques as needed.
• Conduct routine rounds, manage sign-ins/outs, and coordinate client transportation if needed.
• Collaborate with case managers, nursing staff, and clinical directors to follow treatment plans.
