Job summary

Hygea Healthcare in Middle River, MD is hiring a Behavioral Health Technician for our 50-bed facility. You will support and monitor clients, ensuring a safe, clean environment and close communication with clinical and nursing staff.

We require a high school diploma; CPR/First Aid certification is preferred. The role includes 12-hour night shifts (7pm–7:30am) with rotating weekends and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or willingness to obtain GED.
• First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
• Associates degree in mental health or addiction treatment setting preferred.
• Training in motivational interviewing a plus.
• Training in Trauma Informed Care a plus.
• Recovery coach training a plus.
• Basic computer skills (Word, Excel).
• Knowledge of community resources.

Responsibilities

• Provides care to clients in a manner that promotes safety, comfort, and the therapeutic environment.
• Maintains cleanliness of the facility and client areas; assists with daily living activities; crisis intervention as needed.
• Observes and manages urine drug testing and breathalyzer screening.
• Facilitates house meetings in the absence of the Program Manager.
• Maintains confidentiality of client records.
• Adheres to institutional policies, QA programs, safety, and infection control standards.
• Pursues ongoing professional development through education and workshops.
