Job summary

Zepf Center in Ohio seeks a Contingent Residential Behavior Specialist to help ensure the immediate safety of residents and continuity of services during designated hours.

Work with the House Manager and direct care staff to implement activities, monitor behavior, and document events; perform kitchen and cleaning duties as needed.

Candidates should have a high school diploma; First Aid/CPR; valid driver's license; background check; and medication experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma; prior experience with individuals who have severe mental health issues preferred.
• First Aid and CPR certification is required.
• Must have a valid driver's license and be eligible for agency insurance coverage.
• Background check will be conducted to determine fitness to provide services.
• Medication experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide for residents' safety by periodic checks on residents and monitoring precautions.
• Ensure security of the building.
• Carry out treatment plans with residents as listed in the ISP.
• Interact with residents and assist with skill building and recreational activities per ISP.
• Check residents' follow through on required assignments.
• Document significant events in the resident's chart and facility logbook.
• Perform cooking, cleaning chores and facility laundry as needed.
• Respond to and handle situations and/or consult with supervisor.
• Report maintenance problems to the House Manager.
• Carry out agency policies and participate in staff development and committees.
• Attend meetings and perform other related duties as requested.
