Job summary

HeartShare in Brooklyn, NY seeks a Behavior Intervention Specialist to oversee behavioral services within residential programs. The role includes conducting Functional Behavioral Analyses, developing Behavior Support Plans, monitoring medications, and training Direct Support Professionals in behavior plans and interventions.

Responsibilities include data collection, report generation, and providing progress reports to the treating psychiatrist and Residence Manager.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in psychology, social work, school psychology, or applied psychology.
• OPWDD BIS Qualifications.
• New York State license in mental health counseling or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Oversee behavioral services in residential programs.
• Conduct Functional Behavioral Analysis and develop Behavior Support Plans.
• Train Direct Support Professionals on behavior plans and interventions.
• Prepare training/in-services for staff and facility issues.
• Provide reports to treating psychiatrists and Residence Manager.
• Collect, interpret data, and generate required reports.
• Provide weekly status updates to Director of Behavioral and Speech Services.
• Provide services for multiple sites.
