QSAC is hiring an Assistant Manager for the OPWDD-funded Residential Program in Wantagh. This essential role oversees operations in QSAC Residences, ensuring a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment that fosters independence and personal goals for individuals receiving services.

A Residential Assistant Manager supervises staff and coordinates services in the residential setting and the community. The salary range for this position is $41,000-$45,000 annually.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED required.
• 1-2 years’ experience driving large passenger vehicle.
• 1-2 years’ experience supporting people with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
• A minimum of 1 year supervisory work experience required.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
• Ability to safely assist lifting individuals and 20 lb items.
• Background/fingerprint clearance required.
• Effective communication with individuals served.
• Commitment to company values and adherence to policies.
• Ability to run when needed.

Responsibilities

• Review residential binders, including general, medical and personal allowances.
• Conduct periodic fire drills for safety procedures.
• Submit injury reports for individuals.
• Maintain individual’s personal allowance accounts.
• Coordinate and shop for household items and proper groceries for meal distribution.
• Maintain relationships with community and neighbors.
• Provide hands-on assistance with Residence and individual care as part of the staff ratio.
• Create and orchestrate recreational calendars based on individual preferences.
• Maintain adequate supply of medication and medication administration records for individuals.
• Coordinate medical appointments with Nurse and Medical Coordinators.
