Job summary

AHRC New York City is seeking multiple Residential Assistant Managers for their Queens ICF and IRA Group Home residences. The role involves collaborating with the Residence Manager and a management team to oversee all aspects of operation and ensure high quality residential services.

You will supervise direct support staff, help plan individualized services, monitor medical records and medications when needed, and ensure compliance with OPWDD standards.

Qualifications

  • Experience supervising staff in a residential setting preferred or required.
  • Experience with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities REQUIRED.
  • Knowledge of OPWDD regulations.
  • Must have NYS driver’s license for more than one year in good standing.
  • Willing to work one weekend day each week.
  • High school diploma or GED with 3+ years Direct Support Professional experience at an OPWDD certified residence.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with compliance and quality assurance with state and federal regulations applicable to the residence.
  • Provide direct supervision and guidance to direct support staff; participate in evaluations and disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Arrange service coverage per Residence Manager’s schedule and cover shortages or residents’ needs.
  • Ensure smooth operations including house and vehicle maintenance, fire safety, and resident/personnel files.
  • Collaborate with Residence Manager to plan individualized programs of services for residents.
  • Oversee medical services with clinical staff, maintain medical records, schedule appointments, and assist with medications.
  • Ensure residents’ basic needs are met, including food, clothing, hygiene items, and personal belongings.
  • As needed, participate in team meetings and quality reviews of active treatment services.
  • Formulate new ideas to enhance quality of residents’ lives and participate in staff training.
