Job summary

LSSI is hiring a maintenance professional in Decatur, IL to perform routine maintenance, repairs, and ground duties. This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, and 3–5 years of maintenance experience is preferred.

The position offers on-site work with on-call duties, a pay rate of $20–$21 per hour, and a comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees including health insurance, PTO, holidays, sick time, a 403(b) plan, and flexible hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent maintenance experience.
• Trade or technical school training preferred.
• Three to five years maintenance experience preferred.
• Basic electrical, plumbing, ground maintenance and snow removal experience preferred.
• HUD, OSHA, REAC, and ECT or related training preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
• Good organization and computer/tablet skills, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel) and related software.
• Background check clearance required.
• Valid driver’s license in good standing for the state of residency.
• Access to reliable transportation required.
• Valid IL minimum liability insurance coverage required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, janitorial duties, and repair of buildings and grounds.
• Report needs for major repairs.
• Follow safety, licensing, regulatory and agency requirements.
• Implement and manage preventive maintenance program.
• Assist in resident apartment or room turnover preparations.
• Perform on-call service and respond to emergencies.
• Mileage reimbursement and driving time counted as hours when on call.
• Maintain professional, respectful conduct with clients and staff.
• Document work orders and reporting in compliance with requirements.

Essential Functions:
