Job summary

LSSI is hiring a full-time Maintenance Manager to oversee routine maintenance, repairs, and grounds keeping under the direction of the Property Manager and Directors. The role includes on-call duties, safety compliance, and coordination with HUD standards.

The position requires experience in general or residential maintenance, supervisory skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. A valid IL driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or 3–5 years general/residential maintenance experience.
• Trade school or technical training preferred.
• Background check clearance required.
• Willingness to participate in HUD, LSSI, OSHA, NSPIRE/REAC training.
• 1–3 years supervisory experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and related software.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Valid IL liability insurance coverage required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and may perform routine maintenance, janitorial duties and repair of buildings and grounds.
• Report needs for major repairs, complete specifications, and capital documentation as required by LSSI and HUD.
• Follow all standards regarding safety, licensing, regulatory and agency requirements.
• Develop, implement, and maintain preventative maintenance program.
• Ensure prompt resident apartment turnover preparations.
• Perform on-call services as scheduled and respond promptly to emergencies.
• Provide supervision, training, support, review, and evaluation for assigned staff.
• Demonstrate professional, positive behavior and treat clients and colleagues with dignity and respect.

LSSI is hiring a full-time Maintenance Manager, Monday through Friday. Under the direction of the Property Manager and Directors, maintain all facets of physical plant and grounds in accordance with health and safety requirements of LSSI / HUD with on-call duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications

• High school diploma (or equivalent) or three (3) to five (5) years experience in general and/or residential maintenance required.
• Trade school or technical training preferred.
• Background check clearance required.
• Three (3) to five (5) years experience in general and/or residential maintenance preferred.
• Willingness and ability to participate/obtain HUD, LSSI, OSHA, NSPIRE/REAC, etc. related training required.
• One (1) to three (3) years supervisory experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, comprehensible manner, verbally and written.
• Good organization and pc/computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) along with other related software.
• Valid driver’s license, in good standing for the state of residency required.
• Access to reliable transportation required.
• Valid IL statutory minimum liability insurance coverage, bodily injury, and property damage required.
