Job summary

Residential Aide position at CHR's Oak Street location in Willimantic, CT, is a full-time, 40 hours/week role on the third shift (12:00am–8:00am). The program supports adults with substance use disorders in a 10-bed transitional living setting, with outpatient treatment and discharge planning required.

The role involves environment maintenance, medication monitoring, teaching daily living skills, administrative support, and collaboration with staff and families.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Experience in Human Services with responsible work history.
• Licensure/Certification: Valid driver's license with good driving record.
• Training: CPR & First Aid Certification required or must obtain within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Maintains physical environment and program standards per CHR, DMHAS, JCAHO and licensing standards.
• Monitors medications of all residents per policy.
• Communicates day’s events to staff using appropriate tools.
• Teaches and assists residents in rehab areas: nutrition, meal prep, hygiene, laundry, budgeting, and home care skills.
• Assists with administrative tasks per supervisor.
• Prepares and facilitates educational and skill-building groups and one-to-one interventions.
• Collaborates with providers and families to coordinate care.
• Addresses medical and psychiatric needs of residents.
• Maintains documentation per agency and program standards.
• Participates in staff meetings, supervision, trainings and other meetings.
• Additional duties as required.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM: Oak Street

10 Bed Co-Ed Transitional Living Program for adults with Substance Use Disorders in Willimantic. Clients must attend outpatient treatment while in the program. Clients must have a discharge plan as it is a transitional living.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Residential Aide

• Maintains physical environment and program standards to CHR, DMHAS, JCAHO and any other licensing standard
• Monitors medications of all residents in accordance with the Adult residential medication policy and procedure.
• Effectively utilizes appropriate communication methods/tools to transfer information to other staff regarding the day’s events
• Teaches and assists all residents in areas of rehab including: nutrition and healthy living, meal preparation, hygiene, laundry, banking and budgeting, and basic home care skills.
• Assists/Manages administrative functions and tasks at the direction of the supervisor
• Prepares and facilitates educational and skill building groups and one to one interventions as directed by the treatment plan.
• Collaborates and coordinate care with providers and families as needed.
• Assists residents in addressing medical and psychiatric needs.
• Maintains documentation in compliance with agency and program standards.
• Participates in staff meetings, supervision, trainings and other meetings as assigned.
• Additional duties as required.

COMPENSATION*:

$19.28/hour minimum- $ 27.98/hour maximum*

*Actual rates within this range are determined at the time of offer and are based on relevant experience, as well as adherence to our internal equity policy. (Please note, for part-time positions this range would be pro-rated based on hours worked)
