Job summary

Community Health Resources in Willimantic, CT seeks a Residential Aide for Roots to Recovery. This full-time role runs Friday to Tuesday, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM, in a 24/7 residential treatment program for men.

Responsibilities include maintaining the living environment, monitoring medications, teaching life skills, and coordinating with staff and providers. A high school diploma and valid driver’s license are required; CPR/First Aid must be obtained within 90 days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in Human Services with responsible work history.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
• CPR & First Aid Certification required OR must obtain within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Maintains physical environment and program standards per CHR, DMHAS, JCAHO and licensing standards.
• Monitors medications of all residents in accordance with policy.
• Communicates day’s events to staff using appropriate methods/tools.
• Teaches residents in rehab areas: nutrition, budgeting, hygiene, laundry, meal prep, home care skills.
• Assists/Manages administrative functions as directed by supervisor.
• Prepares and facilitates educational/skill-building groups and individual interventions.
• Collaborates with providers and families; coordinates care as needed.
• Maintains documentation per agency/program standards.
• Participates in staff meetings, supervision, trainings and other meetings.
