Job summary

Management & Training Corporation (MTC) seeks a Residential Advisor, Substitute for our San Diego area program in Imperial Beach, CA. The role involves supervising students on residential floors, ensuring safety and adherence to rules, and supporting student growth and well-being.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, and offers opportunities to document activities, coordinate dorm programs, and assist during emergencies. Evening and night scheduling is common.

Responsibilities

• Monitor students that live on residential floors to ensure Center rules.
• Foster an atmosphere conducive to character development and positive behavior.
• Document student activity and incidents; assist during injuries or emergencies.
• Coordinate dormitory activities, tutoring, and after-hours learning.
• Facilitate CSS group sessions and provide guidance in development; maintain records.
• Maintain CIS records for students and act as center duty officer as assigned.

Position: Residential Advisor, Substitute

Location: 1325 Iris Ave, Imperial Beach, CA 91932

Schedule: Varies , when needed. 3 pm - 12 am, 11:30 pm - 8:30 am

Job responsibilities

Monitors students that live on residential floors to ensure compliance with the rules and regulations of the Center. Fosters an atmosphere conducive to character development through the encouragement of favorable behavior patterns. Facilitates prompt and appropriate assistance in the event of injury, illness, traumatic experience, and emotionalism; responsible for documenting student activity and incidences.

Duties Include, But Not Limited To

• Monitor group living conditions, evaluate situation within the dormitories and make decisions and/or recommendations while ensuring safety and proper student behavior
• Perform duties involving student passes, leaves, evaluations, progress reports, emergencies and terminations for assigned shift.
• Communicate with families of students as required to resolve problems and assure the wellbeing of students.
• Coordinate activities of dormitories including recreation and entertainment on and off center, dorm competitions, dorm courts, and after hours tutoring and learning activities
• Facilitate Career Success Standards (CSS) group sessions for students and provide guidance in CSS development; maintain documentation.
• Maintain required records and update CIS information on students on a regular and timely basis
• Function as center duty officer (CDO) as assigned.
