Job summary

Adams and Associates, Inc. is seeking a Residential Advisor to be at the forefront of creating a home away from home for our students. You will build relationships, foster community, and provide guidance in the residential setting.

Responsibilities include mentoring students, organizing inclusive activities, handling crises, enforcing policies, helping develop life skills, and collaborating with staff to support student success.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Advanced degrees preferred.
  • Minimum of one year Job Corps or related program experience required.
  • In-state driver's license preferred.
  • Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling/pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping and crouching; must be able to lift 40 pounds and assess lift load.

Responsibilities
  • **Student Mentorship:** Serve as a mentor and role model to students, providing guidance on personal development, goal setting, and decision-making.
  • **Community Building:** Foster a sense of community within the residential area by organizing and promoting inclusive activities, events, and group discussions.
  • **Crisis Intervention:** Be prepared to handle and respond to any emergency or crisis situations within the residential community, ensuring the safety and well-being of students.
  • **Conflict Resolution:** Address conflicts and interpersonal issues among students with empathy and professionalism. Encourage open communication and a positive living environment.
  • **Residential Policies:** Enforce and uphold residential policies and procedures, ensuring a safe, clean, and respectful living environment for all students.
  • **Life Skills Development:** Assist students in developing essential life skills, including time management, budgeting, and effective communication.
  • **Collaboration:** Work closely with other Residential Advisors, academic staff, and support services to ensure a holistic and integrated approach to student success.

Qualifications & Experience
