Job summary

Eckerd Connects seeks a Residential Advisor at Denison Job Corps Center to provide a safe, structured dorm environment while guiding students aged 16–24. You will monitor progress toward goals and apply core-value-driven practices.

This part-time role supports the center’s mission to prepare youth for meaningful careers, with drug screening and background checks required. A driver’s license is preferred, CPR/First Aid is expected, and AED certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record preferred.
• Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our policy.
• Ability to obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid; AED certification preferred.
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, supportive environment in dormitory supervision of Job Corps trainees.
• Conduct dormitory operations in accordance with center policies.
• Supervise students aged 16–24 to maintain good order and discipline.
• Ensure dormitories are supervised 24/7 and rules are followed.
• Maintain accountability of residents and log significant events.
• Act as a mentor and support students adjusting to center life.

Service Contract Act (SCA) Position

Duties and Responsibilities

• The Residential Advisor provides safe, supportive, and predictable environment in dormitory supervision of Job Corps trainees in their daily activities, monitoring their progress in attaining performance contract goals and objectives and utilizing behavior management and intentional and consistent Core-Value-driven practices.
• The Residential Advisor conducts dormitory operations in accordance with center operating policy and procedures.
• Provides daily supervision to students age 16-24 to ensure good order and discipline are maintained in the dormitory.
• Ensures the dormitories are under supervision 24 hours a day and ensures all rules, policies and procedures are followed by residents.
• Maintains accountability of all residents and logbook entries for any significant events that occur during their shift.
• Assists students in adjusting to Center life by providing supervision, behavior modification and acting as a mentor.
• Documents student records according to PRH, inputting all relevant student data.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record preferred.
• Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
• Ability to obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid and prefer AED certification.
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check.
