Job summary

The Orenda Center of Wellness seeks an experienced substance abuse counselor for its residential women's program in Sabillasville, Maryland. The role involves individual therapy, group sessions, and aftercare planning, with emphasis on dual-diagnosis treatment and compassionate care.

You will report to the Clinical Manager and participate in weekly clinical discussions. A strong background in ASAM and documentation in an EMR is essential for timely notes and coordinated care.

Qualifications

• Requires completion in addiction counseling and Maryland licensing/certification such as ADT/CAC-AD/LCADC.
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in addiction treatment and/or mental health counseling as a licensed provider.
• Experience facilitating therapeutic group and individual sessions.
• Understanding of treatment planning, clinical notations, dual diagnosis charting and interventional skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct individual therapy sessions, groups, and/or family meetings.
• Facilitate substance use groups and life skills courses.
• Perform substances use clinical assessments and aftercare planning.
• Maintain all clinical notes in the EMR system within required timeframes.
• Manage a caseload of 12+ clients and respond to crises with de-escalation skills.
