Job summary

The Orenda Center of Wellness seeks an experienced substance abuse counselor for its residential men’s treatment program in Buckeystown, MD. The role supports dual diagnosis care with comprehensive therapy, evaluations, and psychiatric management in a compassionate, structured setting.

Work includes individual, group, and family sessions, with clinical documentation in a secure EMR. Requires MD licensure eligibility and at least 1–2 years in addiction or mental health counseling.

Qualifications

• Certificate of completion in addiction counseling or higher education as listed.
• Maryland licensure/certification such as ADT, CSC-AD, CAC-AD, LGADC, LCADC with supervision preferred for CAC-AD.
• Experience with ASAM criteria and regulatory standards of care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct individual therapy sessions and group/ family meetings.
• Facilitate substance use groups and life-skills sessions.
• Complete clinical assessments and treatment planning; document notes in EMR.
• Manage 12+ client caseload while meeting deadlines and crisis intervention as needed.
