Job summary

The Home of the Innocents in Louisville, KY, seeks a Residential Access & Operations Supervisor to lead admissions, campus access, and safety for the Placement & Stabilization program.

You will supervise daily operations, coordinate with residential care, security, behavioral health, and community partners, and provide leadership during crises.

Shift: 1:00 PM–10:00 PM, Tuesday to Saturday; on-site role with a trauma-informed, compassionate approach.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; two years of experience in a child-caring facility.
  • 60 college credit hours and one year of related experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily leadership and operational oversight for access, admissions, family room, and safety.
  • Serve as on-site leader in the absence of the Access Director and manage referrals.
  • Oversee safety protocols, campus access, and visitor management.
  • Coordinate with residential care, security, behavioral health, and community partners.
  • Lead crisis responses and supervise SCM interventions; post-incident debriefings.
  • Ensure documentation accuracy and compliance with licensing and standards.

Join Home of the Innocents as an Access & Operations Supervisor, where you'll play a critical role in ensuring the safety, security, and smooth daily operations of our Residential Placement & Stabilization program. If you're a strong communicator who enjoys coordinating care, leading through crisis, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, we'd love to have you on our team.

Shift: 1:00 PM - 10:00 PM Tuesday - Saturday

A Day in the Life

Every day is different as you help ensure a safe and welcoming environment for youth, families, and visitors. You'll oversee admissions and campus access, coordinate with residential care, Security, behavioral health, and community partners, and provide leadership during behavioral or emergency situations. You'll help manage daily operations, support staff, ensure compliance with safety procedures, and make sure every youth receives compassionate, trauma-informed care from the moment they arrive.

How This Position Contributes to our Mission

  • Provide daily leadership and operational oversight for access, admissions, family room, and safety functions within the Placement & Stabilization program
  • Serve as the on-site leader in the absence of the Access Director by managing daily referrals and intake processes
  • Ensure the consistent implementation of safety protocols by overseeing campus access, resident admissions, reentry and departure procedures, and visitor management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for youth, families, DCBS, law enforcement, community partners, volunteers, and other visitors, fostering positive relationships and professional communication
  • Provide leadership during behavioral crises, including supervising Safe Crisis Management (SCM) interventions and supporting staff through post-incident coaching and debriefing
  • Coordinate transportation and logistics for medical appointments, court appearances, and other urgent needs
  • Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with licensing, accreditation, and organizational standards
  • Participate in a required 24/7 backup on-call rotation to support program leadership and service recipient needs

Skills and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent with at least two years of experience working in a child-caring facility, or at least 60 college credit hours and one year of experience in a child-caring facility required. A bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with insurable driving record required
  • Experience with and current certification in Safe Crises Management modalities is required and provided if not current
  • Current Heartsaver CPR/First Aid is required and provided if not current
  • Experience with and knowledge of trauma-informed care principles
