Job summary

Outcome HC is seeking a Resident Van Driver to safely transport residents to medical appointments and activities. The role requires assisting residents in and out of the van, ensuring proper use of mobility aids and seatbelts, and maintaining vehicle safety and cleanliness.

Responsibilities include coordinating with nursing staff, following emergency protocols, and maintaining confidentiality of residents at all times.

Qualifications

• Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to assist residents with limited mobility and operate a wheelchair lift if applicable.
• Knowledge of basic vehicle safety and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate the facility van to transport residents.
• Assist residents in and out of the vehicle, using mobility aids as needed.
• Ensure residents are secured with seatbelts and safety equipment.
• Adhere to traffic laws and facility policies during transportation.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Maintain cleanliness and routine maintenance of the vehicle.
• Communicate schedule and delays with nursing staff and residents.
• Follow residents’ medical needs and emergency protocols during transport.
• Assist with scheduling transportation as directed by management.
• Uphold confidentiality and dignity of residents.
