Job summary

The Alps at Wayne Rehab is seeking a responsible and personable Transporter to help residents get to medical appointments, therapy, and other approved destinations. You will transport residents safely, assist with mobility devices, and maintain vehicle safety and cleanliness in a supportive team environment.

Ideal candidates will have a valid NJ driver’s license, reliable driving habits, and experience supporting mobility-challenged individuals.

Qualifications

• Valid New Jersey driver's license.
• Safe and responsible driving habits.
• Healthcare, senior living, medical transportation, or customer service experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents to and from medical appointments, therapy, hospitals, and other approved destinations.
• Assist residents safely in and out of vehicles as appropriate.
• Help residents with mobility devices, including wheelchairs and walkers.
• Ensure residents are transported safely, comfortably, and on schedule.
• Follow all facility transportation policies and safety procedures.
• Complete required transportation documentation accurately.
• Communicate appointment schedules and transportation needs with facility staff.
• Maintain professional and courteous communication with residents, families, healthcare providers, and facility staff.
• Perform routine vehicle safety checks and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
• Keep the vehicle clean, organized, and properly maintained.
• Maintain resident confidentiality and respect privacy at all times.
• Work collaboratively with nursing, therapy, social services, and other departments to coordinate resident transportation.

What You'll Do as Transporter

• Safely transport residents to and from medical appointments, therapy, hospitals, and other approved destinations

What We're Looking For

• Valid New Jersey driver's license
• Safe and responsible driving habits
• Previous experience transporting patients, residents, seniors, or individuals with mobility needs is preferred
• Healthcare, senior living, medical transportation, or customer service experience is a plus
• Comfortable assisting individuals who use wheelchairs, walkers, or other mobility equipment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Reliable, punctual, and dependable
• Patient, compassionate, and respectful
• Ability to work independently while communicating effectively with the facility team
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to resident safety
