Job summary

Zeta Charter Schools in New York City is seeking an Entry-Level Resident Teacher for the 2027-2028 school year. This on-site role begins a three-year residency toward New York State certification, with Year 1 salary of $65,000 and placement in the Bronx, Upper Manhattan, or Queens.

You will co-plan rigorous instruction with your Head Teacher, build a strong classroom culture, analyze student work to close gaps, and grow through feedback within Zeta’s residency program and supports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and minimum GPA 3.0.
• Interest in pursuing a career in education.
• Willingness to learn, receive feedback, and improve practice.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Co-plan and deliver inquiry-based, rigorous instruction with your Head Teacher.
• Build classroom culture with Head Teacher; reinforce routines and high expectations.
• Master the foundations of the curriculum and social-emotional program.
• Use data and daily observations to identify gaps and adjust instruction so students stay on or above grade level.
• Foster relationships with students and families and support whole-child development.
• Actively apply coaching from leaders to translate learning into practice.
