Job summary

Zeta Charter Schools in New York is seeking an Elementary School Head Teacher to lead inquiry‑driven, high‑impact instruction in our growing K–8 program. You will deliver rigorous lessons, foster an inclusive classroom culture, and partner with families to support every child’s growth.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and 1–2+ years of lead teaching experience; NYS certification is preferred. Salary ranges show commitment to staff development and equity, with relocation support available

• Internalize and master Zeta’s curriculum to deliver exceptional instruction daily.
• Champion academic goals, targeting 90%+ students at or above grade level in ELA and Math.
• Utilize data and student work to drive achievement and refine teaching practice.
• Develop strong relationships with students and families to support growth.
• Collaborate with colleagues and participate in weekly professional learning.

Education

Elementary School Head Teacher

Core Responsibilities

• Plan inquiry‑driven, academically rigorous lessons that spark curiosity, deepen understanding, and empower all students to engage meaningfully with learning.
• Build a vibrant, inclusive classroom culture that nurtures a genuine love of learning and strengthens the sense of community among students and families.
• Internalize and deeply master Zeta’s academic and social‑emotional curriculum, developing the skills and knowledge to deliver exceptional instruction each day.
• Champion Zeta’s ambitious academic goals—including ensuring that 90%+ of students achieve on or above grade level across ELA and Math—and work relentlessly to help every student reach those outcomes.
• Utilize data, student work, and research‑based resources to drive student achievement and continuously refine your teaching practice.
• Develop strong, authentic relationships with students and families to support each child’s academic growth and personal development.
• Collaborate closely with colleagues and engage in weekly professional learning, embracing coaching and feedback as you grow into a highly effective educator.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 1‑2+ years of lead K‑12 classroom teaching experience (New York State certification preferred). Proven record of propelling extraordinary student growth.

Salary and Relocation

Salary range: $66,500 to $115,500, with new hires closer to the lower end of the range based on experience, certification, and internal equity. Zeta offers relocation reimbursement of up to $2,500 for eligible teachers.
