Job summary

Breaking Ground offers a position in Times Square to oversee the Tenant Services Office, ensuring safe and well-managed permanent housing while engaging residents and coordinating programs.

The role reports to the Assistant Director, Tenant and Aging Services, with travel between two building sites in the same borough, a 35-hour work week, and some evenings or weekends as needed. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Two years of full-time work experience in Human Services or related field.
• Excellent writing, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask and shift easily between tasks.
• Ability to work with a diverse population, including persons with chronic mental illness.
• Outgoing, approachable nature preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Tenant Services calendar of events for two building sites.
• Oversee development and implementation of programs and activities for residents.
• Recruit and manage tenant and external volunteer opportunities.
• Produce monthly building newsletters and monthly reports.
• Coordinate with Building Management, partner agencies, and Breaking Ground programs.
• Liaise with tenants to address needs and concerns.
• Accompany tenants on off-site excursions or events.
• Serve as tenant contact for questions and concerns; redirect tenants to appropriate staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
