Job summary

Mercy Housing in Encinitas, CA is seeking a Resident Services Coordinator II to facilitate and implement core programs for senior residents. You will collect data, measure outcomes, identify community service needs, and link residents with needed services.

Build partnerships with service providers and coordinate volunteering to support residents and plan on-site events. This on-site role requires strong community development experience, a high school diploma, and a passion for helping seniors.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of experience in community development, social services, or related field.

  • Collect required data for designated program components and record data in the Mercy Housing database in an accurate and timely way.
  • Evaluate outcomes of programs and services delivered on a regular basis.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of residents to guide them toward appropriate services and resources.
  • Participate in and/or lead activities within Mercy Housing and with partner agencies.

Description

The successful Resident Services Coordinator II will facilitate and implement core programs for senior residents. Collect and record data to measure program outcomes. Identify community service needs of residents. Develop strategies to link residents with needed services, including assistance in overcoming various barriers. Build community partnerships that bring services and notice to the property; seeking volunteering. Will deliver direct services and plan fun on-site community events.

Pay: $26.00-28.00/hour DOE

  • Early close Fridays (3 paid hours each Friday)
  • Early close prior to a holiday (3 paid hours)
  • Paid Time off between Christmas and New Year's Holiday

Duties:

  • Collect required data for designated program components and record data in the Mercy Housing database in an accurate and timely way. Maintain all reporting requirements set by funding and/or government agencies.
  • Evaluate outcomes of programs and services delivered on a regular basis as required.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of residents (conduct needs assessments, community meetings, etc.) in order to be able to offer residents the opportunity to assist their community and to guide them towards appropriate services and resources.
  • Participate in and/or lead activities within Mercy Housing and in collaboration with partner agencies that build professional capacity and enhance working relationships.

Minimum Qualifications of Position

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years of experience in community development, social services, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications of Position

  • Two (2) years experience working with individuals with mental health issues.
  • Two (2) years working with senior and developmentally disabled populations.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
  • Experience conducting community assessments, applying the principles of conflict management, and organizing community groups, events, or programs.
  • Experience supervising staff.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Work collaboratively with others in a team environment, respecting the perspectives and contributions of others.
  • Demonstrate a high level of verbal, writing, and listening skills.
  • Proficient with MS Office (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Maintain confidentiality and to obtain appropriate release of information as necessary.
  • Able to work with people with mental health, disability, substance abuse, legal, and financial issues.
