Job summary

Seattle Housing Authority is seeking a Resident Services Coordinator to connect SHA residents with health, housing, and social services. The role focuses on outreach, service coordination, documentation, and collaboration with partners to promote housing stability and well‑being.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years in case management or social services, a relevant bachelor’s degree, and bilingual or multilingual abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide health, human, and social services information to SHA residents and educate about service availability and client rights.
  • Engage with SHA residents through outreach, move‑in assistance, orientation to service coordination, and regular visits.
  • Coordinate and monitor service provision for residents including referrals and transportation.
  • Document non‑clinical observations to assist residents with health and housing goals.
  • Assist residents with strategies to engage providers and manage care/services; document plans and interactions.
  • Consult with SHA staff, residents, service providers, and partners to identify needs and resources.
  • Maintain current directory of providers and community resources for staff and residents.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment by following infection control protocols and emergency policies.
  • Attend all required training and safety meetings.

The Position

We’re looking for a Resident Services Coordinator to join our team! Under general supervision, the Resident Services Coordinator provides access to necessary resources and supportive services in the community that promote health and housing stability for SHA residents.

Primary Location

Center Park, 2121 26th Ave S, Seattle, WA 98144 plus one to two additional sites assigned within the first six months of employment.

The ideal candidate will have:
  • At least two years relevant case management or direct social service delivery.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human or social services, counseling, or other relevant field.
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills

While these requirements are the traditional standards for developing the skills required for this classification, any combination of experience, training and education that demonstrate the ability to successfully perform the essential functions of the classification may be considered.

What will you do?
  1. Provide health, human, and social services information to SHA residents. Educate residents on service availability, application procedures, and client rights.
  2. Proactively engage and provide outreach to SHA residents through formal and informal introductions, move-in assistance, orientation to service coordination, and frequent visitation.
  3. Coordinate and monitor the provision of services for residents including referrals, releases of information, transportation for services, and/or a variety of needs such as mental and physical health, wellness, nutrition, and other related services as identified.
  4. Provide and document non-clinical observation of health, psychological and social needs to help residents address goals for health and housing stability.
  5. Assist residents with strategies to engage with providers and participate in their own care/services management. Maintain documentation of resident plans, goals, and interactions through service notes, emails, and other methods as appropriate.
  6. Consult with SHA staff, residents and resident organizations, service providers, and other partners to identify the health-related social needs and supportive services required to address such needs. Provide educational resources to SHA staff related to help SHA better support residents.
  7. Maintain and share current and relevant directory and information service providers/community resources for use by both housing staff and residents.
  8. Maintain a safe and healthy environment by adhering to infection control protocols; addressing potential safety and health hazards; following emergency policies and procedures; and using personal protective equipment as directed.
  9. Attend all required training and safety meetings.
