Job summary

MiSide Housing is seeking an experienced Resident Services Coordinator in Detroit, MI to assess resident needs, develop programs, and connect low-income residents with community services across MiSide properties.

Under the Director of Resident Services, you will support life skills programming, coordinate with life skills educators, participate in focus groups, and help sustain housing stability and quality of life for residents through targeted resource linkages and program oversight.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field preferred.
• Two years of work experience in social work or case management.
• Knowledge of Southwest Detroit and local services preferred.
• Valid driver's license and access to a private vehicle required.

Responsibilities

• Assess resident needs and develop programming to meet them.
• Provide linkages to needed services for low-income residents.
• Coordinate and oversee skill-building programs and life skills educators.
• Participate in focus groups, programs, and committees to advance tenant quality of life.

Job Details: Level: Experienced, Job Location: Detroit, MI 48216, Position Type: Full Time, Education Level: High School, Salary Range: $25.65 - $25.65 Hourly, Travel Percentage: Up to 25%, Job Shift: Day, Under the supervision of a Director of Resident Services, the Resident Services Coordinator is responsible for assessing resident needs, developing and/or identifying programming to meet those needs, making resource information available to residents, and providing linkages to needed services for low-income residents living in MiSide affordable housing developments. The Resident Service Coordinator will participate in existing focus groups, programs, and committees as well as implement new programs for the advancement of tenant quality of life and community improvements opportunities. Additional responsibilities will include the management of the skill building programs and the oversight of life skills educators when applicable with tenants of the MiSide Housing portfolio of properties. The ability to effectively coordinate services for residents directly impacts the organization’s mission statement in that it allows residents to maintain their housing for longer periods of time, enhances their quality of life and provides for greater instances of safe, affordable housing for the populations we serve.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS::

• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field preferred
• Two years of work experience in social work, community services, or other case management role
• Knowledge of Southwest Detroit and local services providers is highly preferred
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to a private vehicle for day-to-day job performance
