Job summary

Ascent Healthcare Management seeks a Recreation/Leisure Activity Aide to plan, organize, and monitor a resident-focused program. You will assess needs, develop daily activities, and ensure broad participation within transportation limits, while maintaining records and coordinating with the Interdisciplinary Team.

Responsibilities include staff training, equipment inventory, and adherence to regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

• Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma.
• Aptitude for music, art, crafts, adult sports activities and other leisure activities preferred.
• Must have and maintain a current Driver’s License to drive facility vehicles.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English clearly.
• Must be able to work beyond standard hours including weekends/holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assess residents to determine interests and needs related to recreational and leisure activities.
• Develop a daily in-house and community program addressing interests and ensuring participation.
• Encourage maximum participation in community resources and events with available transportation.
• Develop, implement and monitor written program plans for individuals per interdisciplinary teams.
• Maintain participation records for each resident served.
• Participate in the Interdisciplinary Team process.
• Purchase, inventory and catalog recreational equipment within budget; maintain inventory accountability.
• Train staff responsible for implementing recreational programs and activities.
• Monitor programs and assist to ensure initiation date adherence.
• Perform clerical functions; orientation of new staff; participate in professional activities.
• Maintain a warm, respectful atmosphere and professional image at all times.
