Job summary

Ascent Healthcare Management seeks a Recreation Assistant/Aide to support the planning and delivery of the facility's Recreation/Activity Program. You will assess resident interests, develop daily activities, and promote participation across residents within budget and policy constraints.

The role requires a high school diploma, a passion for music and the arts, and the ability to coordinate with interdisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

  • Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma. College credits preferred.
  • Must have an aptitude for music of all types, art, crafts, adult sports activities and other leisure activities.
  • Must possess the ability to read, write and speak the English language clearly.
  • Must have and maintain a current Driver’s License to drive all vehicles used in the facility’s recreation program.

Responsibilities

  • Assess residents to determine interests and needs in recreational activities.
  • Develop a daily in-house and community program addressing individualized interests.
  • Ensure maximum participation of residents in community resources and events.
  • Develop, implement and monitor written program plans for individuals as prioritized by Interdisciplinary Teams.
  • Maintain participation records/data for each resident.
  • Train staff responsible for implementing recreational programs.
  • Monitor programs to ensure proper execution.
