Job summary

The Aspenwood Company seeks a dedicated Resident Medication Aide to join our River Oaks community. You will administer prescribed medications, monitor residents, and maintain records, all while fostering a warm, homelike atmosphere.

This full-time role requires 6 months to 1 year of senior care experience, strong communication, and HIPAA compliance. You will be part of a compassionate team that supports residents’ well-being.

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year of prior resident care experience.
• Delegation by a Registered Nurse for medication administration.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Understanding of HIPAA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Exercise independent judgment in resident care tasks beyond routine.
• Administer medications as prescribed by physicians, monitor residents' responses, and adhere to infection control policies.
• Assist residents with medications and supervise those who self-administer.
• Maintain residents’ records daily, documenting medication distribution, activities, incidents, observations, and changes in residents' conditions.
• Write weekly/monthly summaries addressing issues identified in service plans.
• Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the medicine supply room.
• Receive and manage reports on all residents.
• Count controlled substances with outgoing RMAs, ensuring accuracy before accepting keys.
• Provide direct resident care as described in the Resident Assistant Job Description.
• Follow proper procedures in emergencies and respond promptly to resident requests for assistance.
• Promote teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers.
• Attend all required in-service training sessions.
• Be an active member of the community’s emergency response team.
• Maintain high standards of appearance, cleanliness, and personal hygiene in line with company policies.

Shifts Available

2:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. | 10:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m.

PRN shifts available

Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
