Job summary

Aperion Care in Chicago Heights is seeking an Activity Assistant to support planning, implementation, and evaluation of recreational and social programs for residents. You will observe and document resident responses, coordinate with other departments, and help prepare activity spaces to ensure a warm, engaging environment.

Responsibilities include assisting with care plans, procuring supplies, and supporting residents in crafts and activities to promote well-being.

Qualifications

• Experience in Long Term Care Activities Department is preferred.
• Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition & enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level at which they are currently functioning.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing & evaluating activity programs.
• Observe resident attendance, mood and involvement and document progress.
• Assist in preparing activity rooms and coordinating equipment and supplies.
• Follow care plans in providing daily activities for residents.
• Assist residents by visiting, writing letters, running errands, and helping with crafts and projects.
