Job summary

Eastern Health Group is seeking an Activities Assistant to support the Activities Director in planning and directing a program of activities that meets residents’ social, emotional, physical and spiritual needs. You will help develop calendars, coordinate events, and provide in-room activities for residents, while building partnerships with volunteers and the community.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• 6 months to 1 year experience in activity-related duties.
• Knowledge of aging and resident activities.
• Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
• Experience working with volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Meet physical and sensory requirements and work in the described environment.
• Develop, organize, and implement a program of activities for residents.
• Coordinate in-room activities for residents unable to attend daily events.
• Plan and maintain an ongoing activity calendar and records.
• Develop an active volunteer program and train volunteers.
