Job summary

SNF Healthcare is seeking an Activities Director to develop and implement recreational services aimed at improving residents' quality of life. The Director reports to the Administrator and serves as a visible member of the facility's leadership team.

Responsibilities include assessments, care-planning, coordinating Resident Council, and leading the activities staff while ensuring calendars reflect residents' rights, cultural interests, and diverse age groups.

Qualifications

• Two years' experience in a social or recreational program within the last 5 years; health care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments, MDS, care plans and designs activities that meet residents' functional levels and interests.
• Provides in-room activities for residents confined to rooms, aligned with lifelong interests and personal connections.
• Assists with escorting residents to and from daily activities.
• Travels on outings with residents.
• Provides orientation, training and responsibilities to Activity Department staff.
• Maintains sufficient activity supplies.
• Coordinates Resident Council.
• Posts monthly activity calendars reflecting residents' rights and cultural interests; accommodates diverse ages and backgrounds.
• Exhibits creativity, hard work, love for the elderly and patience.
