Job summary

Arcadia LTC is seeking an Activity Director to design and lead a comprehensive activity program focused on the physical, mental, and psychosocial wellbeing of residents. The role includes supervising Activity Aides, documenting progress notes and MDS items, and cultivating partnerships with families and community groups.

Qualified candidates will have a High School Diploma or equivalent and complete an Activity Director training course, with at least 2 years in a social or recreational program

Qualifications

• Preference for completion of an Activity Director training course.
• Experience coordinating social or recreational activities in a nursing facility.
• Strong communication with residents, families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Develop and plan activities including group social, spiritual, creative and educational programs, and exercise activities.
• Oversee Activity Aides and ensure quality programming.
• Review resident goals and progress notes; document MDS reports.
• Foster relationships with families and community partners to support the Activity department.
