Job summary

Life Care Centers of America is seeking an Activities Director to plan, develop, organize, and direct high-quality activities for patients in a post-acute care setting. The role emphasizes addressing recreational, physical, intellectual, spiritual, and social needs while complying with all regulations and Life Care standards.

The position requires experience in social recreation programs, state-approved activity training, and geriatrics familiarity.

Qualifications

• Two years' experience in a social recreation program within the last five years; preferably full-time in a patient activities program in a health care setting.
• Completed State approved activity training.
• Prior experience with geriatrics preferred.

Responsibilities

• Fulfill core competencies of licensed position and provide clinical oversight within rehab practice standards.
• Plan, develop, organize, implement, and evaluate quality activity programs (entertainment, exercise, relaxation, and education).
• Make daily rounds to ensure activities team is performing to standards and patient needs are being met.
• Appropriately and descriptively chart patient progress and behavior.
• Escort patients to and from activities.
• Make regular in room visits to patients uninterested or unable to participate in group activities.
• Effectively manage and operate within budget.
• Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients.
• Assist in the evacuation of patients.
• Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance.
• Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team.
• Sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours.
• Read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
