Qualifications

• Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferable one-year experience in a long-term care facility.
• Language Skills: Ability to read technical procedures.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
• Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Activity Director certification.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct resident-centered activities.
• Keep abreast of current federal and state regulations and professional standards.
• Provide clear communication between team members, residents, families, and the public.
• Participate in community planning and surveys conducted by government agencies.
• Assist in developing plans of correction for deficiencies identified during surveys.
• Develop monthly activity schedules and arrange transportation for residents when needed.
