Job summary

OPCO Skilled Management is seeking an Activities Director to plan, organize and implement activity programs for residents in a long-term care setting. You will work to meet social, spiritual, intellectual, emotional, educational, and physical needs per the resident care plan.

The role requires certification and state-approved training, a relevant degree, and experience in activity programming within healthcare. Compensation reflects competitive pay and benefits; location is on-site.

Qualifications

• Certification as Activity Director and completion of state-approved training.
• Bachelor’s degree in recreation therapy or related field with licensure/registration.
• At least 1 year of experience as an Activity Director in long-term care.
• At least 2 years in social/recreational programs within health care (full-time in activities).

Responsibilities

• Develops and delivers activity/recreational programming to promote resident engagement.
• Completes the MDS activities section and attends Care Plan Meetings.
• Conducts admissions interviews and documents related to activities in care plans.
• Prepares a monthly calendar of activities and posts it in the center.
• Identifies preferences and health issues affecting activity participation; documents findings.
• Creates individualized plans of care based on needs and preferences.
• Implements strategies to increase involvement within functional limits.
• Plans community activities involving community, staff, families and residents.
• Obtains physician approval for activities and maintains precautions lists.
• Provides opportunities for group and individual leisure pursuits; invites resident participation.
• Responsibilities may change or be assigned with or without notice.
