Job summary

OPCO Skilled Management seeks an Activities Assistant to support the Activity Director in assessing, organizing, and implementing activity services for residents. The role involves promoting engagement, coordinating group and individual activities, and assisting with documentation and compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Activities Certification preferred.
• One year experience working in long term care.
• One year experience conducting social/recreational programs within the past five years, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and delivering activity programs to promote residents' engagement and functioning.
• Encourage participation in group and individual activities.
• Assist in completing activity documentation as trained and in line with regulations and policies.
• Submit supplies list and receipts for activity expenditures.
• Maintain precautions/limitations list on each resident.
• Assist in organizing and supervising the volunteer program, including recruiting and training volunteers.
• Support Resident Council meetings when needed.
• Assist in planning community activities involving staff, families and residents.
• Prepare and post monthly calendars of activities.
