Job summary

The Terraces at Capitol Village in Harrisburg seeks an Activities Assistant to create engaging programs that enrich residents’ lives. You will document participation, promote well-being, and help plan recreational, educational, and community activities in collaboration with the care team.

Requirements include a high school diploma and 1 year in an activities/healthcare setting; senior experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year in an Activities Dept or healthcare setting preferred.
• Experience with seniors is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming, engaging environment that enhances residents' quality of life.
• Document resident participation and engagement in activities.
• Promote residents' well-being through meaningful activities and interactions.
• Assist in planning and implementing recreational, social, educational, and community programs.
• Build relationships with residents and encourage participation based on interests and abilities.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support resident care goals.
• Observe changes in moods or participation and communicate to team.
• Assist with community outreach and marketing events.
