Job summary

Burlington Health & Rehabilitation Center in Burlington, VT seeks an Activities Aide to develop and run engaging recreational programs for residents in our care. You will help organize group activities, entertainment, and holiday events tailored to residents' needs and preferences.

This role emphasizes compassion, reliability, and teamwork within a supportive, patient-centered facility. A positive attitude and clear communication are essential for collaborating with families and staff.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience with seniors preferred.
• Ability to work required hours and rotation.
• Compassionate, dependable, and organized.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and carry out recreational programs, group activities, special entertainment, and holiday events to meet the needs of residents.
• Support, encourage, and motivate residents to attend activities.
• Transport residents to and from activities as needed.
• Accompany residents to special events and trips outside the facility.
• Facilitate activities while ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents.
• Clean up after each activity and prepare for the next activity.
• Assemble, dismantle, and store equipment and supplies used in the recreation program.
• Communicate with families as necessary and encourage their involvement.
