Job summary

Burlington Health & Rehabilitation Center is seeking an Activities Aide to design and run recreational programs for our residents in Burlington, Vermont. You will help implement group activities, entertainment, and holiday events while ensuring safety and enjoyment for participants.

The ideal candidate will be able to read, write, and speak English, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and show a genuine interest in working with seniors. Some experience with senior activities is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience and demonstrated interest in working with seniors is preferred.
• Ability to work hours/rotation as described above.

Responsibilities

• Develop and carry out recreational programs, group activities, special entertainment, and holiday events for residents.
• Support, encourage, and motivate residents to attend activities.
• Transport residents to and from activities as needed.
• Accompany residents to special events and trips outside the facility.
• Facilitate activities and ensure the safety and well-being of all residents.
• Clean up after each activity and ready for the next.
• Assemble, dismantle, and store equipment and supplies used in the recreation program.
• Communicate with families as necessary and encourage their involvement.
